Bandmate Music Studio Services

Web and Branding Design, 2017

Recent developments in music production software allow tech-savvy producers to develop their tunes and publish them online with ease.

However, not all of today’s musicians are tech savy; they may have a great understanding of their instrument but may not know the instruments needed to develop their musical outreach in today’s industry.

This is where Bandmate Music Studio Services comes in. Aiming for an older audience that has an established band or career in music, Bandmate can offer them the ability to record, mix tracks, and distribute music across a multitude of physical and digital sources.

Bandmate is not only a studio where people can record music in person, but also offers remote mixing, mastering, and distribution services for those who aren’t able to travel or book session time. For this reason, an online presence was definitely required.

Shown here is the sitemap and the flow of page information. Newly published musical works from Bandmate’s studio are linked to the home page. Every time a service Bandmate covers is mentioned, a link to contact is given so the user audience can make an inquiry with ease.

Testing the market, I handed my computer off to people age 50+, and I noticed that their first reaction was to use the pointer mouse rather than the scroll wheel. Taking this into consideration, I utilized the pointer mouse as the primary function for my website by placing clickable arrows and icons on the tops and bottom of each page.

Bandmate has an aesthetic that portrays sound visually by representing a rainbow as the audible range:

A mobile version of the website, as opposed to the desktop clicking-through mechanic, utilizes a content swiping feature.

Perhaps the musicians have loved ones that aren’t able to attend every live performance. With Bandmate’s services, that musicians audience can share high-quality recordings of their music on demand.

An ad spot for Bandmate in the local paper Seattle Times, where the studio is located. Today, streaming services (like Spotify) are the mainstream for music enjoyment, though many services will not accept music submissions without the backing of a studio.
